Sarah (they/them)
Teaches Yin Yoga
Sarah (they/them) is an artist and writer working in Cumberland, Maine. They teach both movement and craft classes at ECC because they think the practice of each is deeply connected! What we learn from one can enlighten us in the other and as artists we need to tend our bodies as we tend our minds. Their teaching style is a lot about encouraging autonomy, asking questions, and creating a safe space for you to be experimental in your body and your mind. Expect them to be metaphorical, light-hearted, and to come with a really solid playlist.
Sarah studied philosophy, writing, and visual arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada. They hold certificates to teach Yoga, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga. When they aren't teaching they're working on their zine Wastrel, hanging out with other people's dogs, or painting still-lifes in their quiet little house.

Liz Kovarsky (she/her)
Owner, Teaches many styles of yoga, Body Language, Barre & Beats, and many types of arts & crafts classes
I am an artist, teacher, auntie, dancer, social worker, and lover of dogs, hot tubs and snacks especially. I'm committed to practicing embodied expression, playfulness and joy in all my classes and beyond. I have had the privilege of getting trained as a kid’s art teacher, in multimedia art-making, in vinyasa yoga, trauma-informed yoga, yoga for addiction, restorative yoga, various wisdom traditions exploring mindfulness and meditation, expressive-arts therapy, social work, restorative justice practices, harm reduction, facilitation work, and trauma therapy.
We must acknowledge that the wellness industrial complex was created via racial capitalism, and hold each other lovingly accountable as we work to decolonize this community wellness space.
While I'm the owner at Electric Cottage Collective, everyone who steps through the doors is part of shaping the culture here. We all have something to contribute, so bring it! Also know that if the cost of class is a barrier to you, we sometimes have work-trade options and a fluctuating scholarship fund, so please reach out.

Anne Esguerra (she/siya/niya)
Teaches Body Language & many types of somatic
My yoga journey began in 2009 with heated power vinyasa and deepened into yoga therapy through Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy (PRYT) in 2011. I’m certified through PRYT and the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), and in 2013 I founded Integrative Life Therapy—a space for care, connection, and embodied learning.
As a first-generation Filipino American, I root my work in Kapwa—the belief that I am because you are. I’ve never resonated with the individualism often found in wellness spaces. Instead, I focus on how healing happens in relationship—with ourselves, one another, and the systems we move through. This led me to train with Yoga Behind Bars then offering yoga and mentoring to incarcerated youth from 2016–2020.
Movement and music have always guided me—from early years in dance and theater to over a decade studying Guinean West African Dance and performing with New Moon Ensemble. Collaborations through the years with Sea Change Yoga, Prison Yoga Project, Maine Inside Out, Journey Onederland and Arcana continue to remind me that healing isn’t linear or solitary—it’s collective and embodied.

Amy Mulligan
Teaches Body Language
These days, I dance every chance I get! On almost every day of the week, you can find me with a big ol’ smile on my face dancing either Raqs Sharqi - aka belly dance - at Bright Star Studio, ecstatic dance with Portland Community Dance and others, line dance with the Merrymeeting Dance Alinement, DanceAbility format with Spark Dance Program, or most recently, Body Language at the Electric Cottage. I love it all! I love a free -form improvisational format as much as I love a fun choreo and the magic of syncing up with a group. I love that dance, in all its forms, fosters community and connection. I love that dance and movement benefit all, no matter your experience or ability.
Let’s listen to some joyful music, discover what movements feel good in our bodies, connect with each other, express ourselves through movement, have FUN, laugh it up, and werk it out!

She moves through her creative practice partnering with beloved yoga teachers to bring nervous-system restoring sessions in class and 1:1 bespoke sessions.
Vanessa’s path to supporting others is irrevocably intertwined with her own healing journey with music which began as a young child. The sound of her own voice became her constant comrade through thick and thin to bring her a balm for a tough world. She furthered upon exploration of her own self-healing in the early 2000s at a small Liberal Arts college in Vermont. Beginning in the curiosity of discomfort by way of her first yoga pose, these roots of exploration in spending time with herself in different ways of being and of thought grew into the building blocks of a new way of existing.
